Pointers Take Down Knights with Buzzer Beater

Last night in boys’ basketball, Dominik McVay hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to break a tie at 53 as the Pointers defeated New Glarus 56 to 53! Leyten Bowers hit two free throws with 1:03 to go to tie the game at 51 each. Leyten then stole a pass and scored with 46 seconds left to give the Pointers a two-point lead. New Glarus scored with 3.1 seconds left to tie the score once again before Dominik’s game-winner. Dominik stated on his historic game-winner, “ I believe we are starting to work as a team. It was a great team win, and it was exciting when the crowd went crazy when I hit the game-winner.” Dominik had 17 points and Leyten 15 on the night. Bodie Bossert led the hosts with 7 assists while Leyten had 6 rebounds.
The JV boys continued their winning ways with a 59 to 50 win over New Glarus. Three players scored in double figures for the Pointers with Brady Radtke, Alex Ross, and Luke Filardo scoring 14, 13, and 12 points respectively.
