Pointers Fall Just Short Of Storm

Aug 26, 2022

Friday night, the Pointers hosted a first-time opponent, the Kewaunee Storms. The Pointers entered this contest off a tough opening game loss to the Lancaster Flying arrows. Star corner Luke Filardo said, “We came into this game hungry after a bad opener to the season.” After the Storm scored their first position, the next defensive drive, Filardo hauled in a big interception helping the pointers gain some momentum. The storms scored once more before the Pointers decided they’ve had enough, marching the ball down the field with Brenden Lynch eventually running the ball in. After some chaos, the Storms scored once more before the half ended. The Pointers came out of the locker room refusing to give up, scoring on their first possession of the second half. The Pointers’ defense was stout throughout the second half allowing no points. The Pointers scored once more in the third quarter but missed the extra point making the score 20-21. The Storm’s defense made it extremely tough for the Pointers to move the ball. The Pointers failed to score again, resulting in a tough 20-21 loss. The Pointers travel to Pecatonica next week to take on the Pec-Argyle Vikings.
