The JV Pointer football team traveled to Cuba City to lose a close battle 27-20. The Pointers could not get much going early but the Cubans on the other hand were hot. The Cubans took a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. Neither team got anything going the rest of the first half and the score remained 7-0. At the start of the second half the Pointers finally got something going as Tucker Dannenberg got a pick 6 to get the Pointers on the board but the 2-point conversion failed. The Cubans didn’t back down as they took a commanding 20-6 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Cubans then scored right away to start the fourth quarter taking a 27-6 lead. But the Pointers came right back with a 63-yard touchdown from Jaxson Wendhausen to Tucker Danneberg. The Cubans’ lead was now 27-12. The Pointers got the ball back and scored another 34-yard touchdown from Jaxson to Tucker. Jaxson then ran the two-point conversion in. The Pointers could not get the onside kick though, and the game ended in a 27-20 Cuban victory.
