Last night the Pointer volleyball teams went head-to-head with the Cubans. To start off the night the JV and JV2 teams took action. Unfortunately, both teams fell. JV2 lost to the Cubans 3 games to 0. Our JV team went 1-2  against the Cubans 25-15, 22-25, and 15-17.

Then it was time for the Varsity team to take the floor. The girls knew that they had to win this match to snatch the conference title, and they knew that they were going to have to be tough asit would be one of their biggest matches. Having defeated Cuba City once this season, the team knew what a challenge was going to be.

The girls fell to the Cubans in their first set with a score of 22-25. Then they were on their feet to win the next two sets 25-22 and 25-23. Unfortunately, they lost the fourth match 24-26. With that loss, they knew they had to win the next, and the crowd roared with excitement as the girls did just that winning the last set 15-12.

The team beamed with happiness as they won the SWAL Conference title for the first time since 2016. Coach Kabat had great things to say about the team tonight, “I am so proud of our girls for keeping their composure.  We had our chance to put the game away in 4 tonight, but we just got a little tentative and were in one of the rotations we struggle in.”
