MP Girls Basketball Defeats Richland Center in Opener

The Mineral Point Girls Basketball team kicked off their season this Tuesday with their first non-conference game in Richland Center, defeating the Hornets 77-62. The Pointer’s defense set the tone early causing the Hornets to have 46 turnovers in total. Laci Lindsey led the team in scoring with 23 points, followed by Katelyn Cox, adding 22 of her own, and Belle Watters adding ten.

The JV team also started their season off strong defeating the Hornets 62-10. Jadyn Schultz led the team with 25 points, and Liz Hoffman added ten as well. Both MP teams continue their seasons this Friday.

The JV team will be hosting the Evansville Blue Devils with tip-off at 6 P.M. The varsity team will be hosting the Dodgeville Dodgers following the JV game.
