JV Pointer Wrestlers at Stoughton Tournament

The Pointer JV Wrestling team traveled to Stoughton on Saturday, December 2, 2022, to take on many different schools. 

The day started off with Chris Halvorson wrestling weight 106. He came in ready to take on a kid from Rio and beat her 6-3. Next up was Brady Haas at 160. He was pinned at 1:49 by a wrestler from Marshfield but did not let that loss take over the rest of the day. Trent Culver was next at 140 and also was pinned by a wrestler from Marshfield at 1:55. 

The next set of matches went fairly quickly with Halvorson pinning a girl from Oregon at 3:05, Haas falling to a pin at 1:02 by a kid from the Verona area, and Culver pinning a wrestler at 0:27 from the Madison area. 

In the third round, Chris was up again against a wrestler from Fort Atkinson. He was pinned at 0:22. Trent then went up against a wrestler from Stoughton. It was a hard match, and he did not give up but was defeated with a final score of 5-14. 

Halvorson then reserved a forfeit and Haas won with a pin against a wrestler from Fort Atkinson at 2:41. 

In the final matches, Culver wrestled a kid from Baraboo and pinned him at 1:14, and Haas was pinned by a kid from Baraboo at 1:12. 

Overall the JV wrestlers reserved 7th with Chris Halvorson getting 2nd in his weight class, Trent Culver getting 3rd, and Brady Haas getting second.
